About Our Curriculum

We aim high in our learning, achieving each day

We are part of St Alfege and this is our way

Part of our vision is about enabling all children to achieve according to their individual abilities. We want them to have an educational experience that takes them on a journey of discovery and encourages them to continue learning, long after the lesson has been delivered.

At St Alfege with St Peter's we follow the National Curriculum Programme of Study which we have mapped out to ensure there is full coverage. Through our curriculum we aim to ensure that each year, our children build on the skills and knowledge they have learnt so that by the time they leave us they have a developed a sound understanding of a range of subject areas.

Lessons are planned with St Alfege children in mind. Teachers take into consideration the cultural diversity of the children in their class and ensure the learning planned reflects this. Experience visits and visitors to school enhance children's learning and provide children with opportunities to develop and enrich their cultural capital.

We are very fortunate to be located in the heart of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site and we make the most of being surrounded by historic buildings with regular visits to the Maritime Museum, Greenwich Park and trips along the Thames.
